In terms of its financing, the Basel Chamber Orchestra consistently pursues the profile of a modern, innovative orchestral enterprise that has to align and assert itself in the area of tension between its high artistic standards and an oversaturated concert market.

This is evidenced by a high level of self-financing amounting to 87% of the total volume, which totals 5.6 million Swiss francs. The orchestra generates about 60% of this through concert revenues, while 13% comes from the Canton of Basel-Stadt. The Basel production company generates about 27% of the total budget from private funds (sponsoring, foundations, friends and patrons). Comparable orchestras in Switzerland are financed up to 75% with public funds.
