Haydn2032: No.14_L'Impériale with Giovanni Antonini
The new recordings of Haydn symphonies continue: "L'Impériale" – after the nickname of Symphony No. 53 – picks up where the musicians of the Basel Chamber Orchestra last took their Haydn-loving audience with Les jeux et les plaisirs: to a time when the Esterházy Kapellmeister, at the request of a high prince, moved from one season to the next to become a full-time opera impresario.
