Diapason d'Or for Haydn No. 18
Our album Haydn No. 18 “Il Maestro di scuola” receives the prestigious Diapason d'Or in January.
Loïc Chahine describes the recording as follows: «Une image orchestrale d'une belle précision, avec des contours nets dont la fermeté et le mordant participent d'un relief particulièrement tonique. [...] C'est, à notre sens, ce qu'Antonini et le Kammerorchester Basel défendent et illustrent : un plaisir communicatif de jouer qui, outre la beauté, transpire l'amour que tous semblent porter à cette musique.»
(An orchestral image of beautiful precision, with sharp contours whose firmness and bite contribute to a particularly invigorating sound. [...] In our opinion, this is what Antonini and the Basel Chamber Orchestra defend and illustrate: a contagious joy in playing which, in addition to beauty, exudes the love that everyone seems to have for this music.)
Available on all popular streaming platforms or on CD.

Friends of Basel Chamber Orchestra at Othmar Schoeck Festival
Ten members of the Friends of the Basel Chamber Orchestra accompanied the Basel Chamber Orchestra to a concert at the Schoeck Festival in Brunnen on September 22, 2025. The slightly mysterious atmosphere on Lake Lucerne, created by the weather, the very special personal insight into Villa Ruhheim and the history of the Schoeck family, followed by the unforgettable performance of Othmar Schoeck's Elegy with the unique soloist Christian Gerhaher and the musicians, who played with inimitable enthusiasm under the baton of Heinz Holliger, is likely to linger in the memory for a long time to come.
