Nachtklang im Museum begins
The Nachtklang season begins on November 4th at the Novartis Pavilion with a French evening: ‘Of Operas and Operations: Musical and Medical Art in the French Baroque’. Katya Polin, Martin Zeller and Giorgio Paronuzzi will perform music by François Couperin and Marin Marais. Tickets are still available.
New album - Haydn2032 No. 20
The album ‘For English Gentlemen’ is released today as part of the Haydn2032 series. The 20th album of the complete Haydn symphony recordings highlights the popularity of Haydn’s music in England during the 1790s. Alongside Haydn's Symphonies Nos. 76, 77 and 78, the Basel Chamber Orchestra and Giovanni Antonini have also recorded J. C. Bach's Symphony in G minor, Op. 6 No. 6, published in 1769. Available now!
Kammerorchester Basel plays in Theater Basel
Today, 11 October, the Basel Chamber Orchestra will perform in If I Do Not Return at the Theater Basel. Pianist and composer Hania Rani brings new life to the lyrics of Renaissance songs by John Dowland through her contemporary musical style. The premiere is this evening, with four further performances taking place until 19 October.

Tonight Subscription Concert «Auf Reisen»
Today, September 9, the first Don Bosco Subscription Concert will take place at St. Martin’s Church. Look forward to Baroque “suitcase arias” featuring soprano Maayan Licht.
And on Saturday, September 12, is European Heritage Days. The Basel Chamber Orchestra will perform a lunchtime concert at 12:30 p.m. at the Museum Kleines Klingental. The concert is free.
New album - Stranger Sainton
Our new album, «Stranger Sainton», is released today. At its heart is a remarkable instrument: the Guarneri del Gesù «Sainton Betti» violin, once played by Prosper Sainton and now played by our concertmaster, Dmitry Smirnov, for this recording. The violin also shapes the project’s repertoire—a journey through the golden age of the Romantic violin, featuring music by Niccolò Paganini, Gioachino Rossini, Hector Berlioz, and Richard Strauss. The Basel Chamber Orchestra, conducted by Victor Jacob and Dmitry Smirnov, engages in a lively dialogue. Available now!
